I feel like so many published rooms today look like tear outs from a Pottery Barn catalog. And while some their spreads are quite beautiful, they completely lack personality and substance. However, mixing different styles and periods of can be tricky, often coming across as disjointed and out of place. But when done right, it’s as if the interior design gods have placed their blessing over the space!
Such is the case found in this gorgeous Charleston home belonging to Hootie and the Blowfish frontman, Darius Rucker, designed by famed Southern interior designer Angie Hranowskysay. I absolutely adore the expertly orchestrated mix of periods and styles of furniture, paired with the colorful palette of textured neutrals and warm purples (that seems to be becoming Hranowskysay’s signature). The white walls lend themselves as the perfect backdrop for the enviable collection of art the Rucker family has amassed, from the likes of Sally King Benedict, Kate Long Stevens and Molly B. Right – just to name a few!
Are you a fan of mixing different styles and periods of furniture in your home, or do you prefer to stick with one genre?
