Clik here to view.Greek revivals are by far one of my favorite styles of architecture for a country or beach house, and this one located in the quaint town of Sag Harbor is an absolute gem! Belonging to fashion designer Beth Blake of THREAD (love their bridesmaid dresses!), and her family of four, the abode boasts classic historical features notorious to Greek revivals, and an updated color palette, resulting in a home that is both current and classic – the best combination in my opinion!

Clik here to view.Regarding the aesthetics, Blake said: “We wanted it to feel like your grandmother lived there—but a grandmother who had really great taste.” My own grandmother is my creative muse and backboard for many of my designs, so I absolutely love this description!

Clik here to view. The carved details on the staircase is exceptional, and I adore the vintage daybed on the landing – the perfect spot to curl up and read a book on a rainy day! I think the steps are also important to note, as they’re a great example of what to do when the floor boards need to be replaced. It looks like the wide wood planked floors in the rest of the house are original and in great condition. Trying to stain the steps the same color as the floors is virtually impossible,so choosing a completely different finish with a matching banister is a great alternative!
